  • Short answer: Very safe. We invested substantial resources to make our lasers extremely safe.
Long answer: Our system incorporates a patented controller that makes our lasers safer than those used for PowerPoint presentations! We are the only company in the industry with a Class 1 laser system during gameplay (safe under all conditions of normal use) while using Class 3R lasers (12x brighter than Class 1 lasers). Our engineering system went through independent verification to assure this system is within compliance for the US FDA / CDRH Laser Product performance requirements via the terms of US CDRH Laser Notice No. 50, dated June 24, 2007, and compliant with the requirements of the TÜV SÜD European norm EN 60825-1/11.01 to be classified as the safest category of laser usage for the general public, and verified to comply with the essential requirements of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2004/108/EC of 15 December 2004 of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) EN/IEC 60825-1, Ed 2, 2007-03. Hey, you said you wanted the long answer!

  • Current clients have reported throughputs of 50-70 players per hour, though exact figures vary with each install. Depending on revenue models, this represents $250-350 in revenue per hour, meaning this attraction can pay for itself in less than a year!

  • Interested in a Laser Maze Challenge sticker or other merchandise? Head over to the Funovation store.

  • Funovation was founded in 2007 and was the first laser maze on the market. We continue to be the best in the business to this day!

  • The circle “fun button” is the first 1/3 of our logo. Intended to embody the no-stress, exciting atmosphere of our company, you can press the fun button anytime and it is said that you will instantly feel happier.

  • The Laser Maze Challenge and RAID are games, but we thought to ourselves “What if it represented more than that? What if it was a way to bring people together and remind the world to play?” After witnessing firsthand the joy our attractions create, we started equating 1 play with 1 smile. Considering the millions of smiles our attractions have already created, it seems fair to say they are more than just games; they are smile generators! Thus, the smile counter.
