Frequently Asked Questions

Laser Maze Challenge

How much space is needed for a Laser Maze Challenge?

We custom design each floor plan with attention to customer needs, goals, and achieving the best ROI. While we recommend at least 10-12’ wide by 18-20’ long for a standard package, our installs range from 165-450 ft². With spectators drawn in to watch the live action feed and space for a queue line, we recommend 20% additional space.

What type of success have your current customers seen?

We continue to learn that the Laser Maze Challenge can fit into almost any business or revenue model, and accomplishes more than just a huge return on investment. We have installed in family entertainment centers, bowling centers, laser tag arenas, internationally recognized amusement parks, cinemas, casinos, skating centers, beach boardwalks, military base community centers, shopping malls, glow golf, trampoline parks, and haunts. Check out what our current customers have to say!

What about theming?

We welcome you to choose from one of our authentic theming packages for a unique, immersive experience or create your own theme! We will happily work with you to help you create the adventure you envision.

What age range does the Laser Maze Challenge appeal to?

That’s like asking “who’s allowed to have fun?” Children, teens, parents, and even grandparents emerge from the Laser Maze Challenge with a smile on their face. The addition of Beam Buster extends the demographic to appeal to kids 3-6 and those young at heart. Birthdays, corporate groups, school trips, and college groups have all had a blast challenging each other. We even have one in our HQ office… it’s just that cool!

How safe is the Laser Maze Challenge?

Short answer:

Very safe. We invested substantial resources to make our lasers extremely safe.

Long answer:

Our system incorporates a patented controller that makes our lasers safer than those used for PowerPoint presentations! We are the only company in the industry with a Class 1 laser system during gameplay (safe under all conditions of normal use) while using Class 3R lasers (12x brighter than Class 1 lasers). Our engineering system went through independent verification to assure this system is within compliance for the US FDA / CDRH Laser Product performance requirements via the terms of US CDRH Laser Notice No. 50, dated June 24, 2007, and compliant with the requirements of the TÜV SÜD European norm EN 60825-1/11.01 to be classified as the safest category of laser usage for the general public, and verified to comply with the essential requirements of the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive 2004/108/EC of 15 December 2004 of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) EN/IEC 60825-1, Ed 2, 2007-03. Hey, you said you wanted the long answer!

Funovation

How old is Funovation?

Funovation was founded in 2007 and was the first laser maze on the market. We continue to be the best in the business to this day!

What is a fun button?

The circle “fun button” is the first 1/3 of our logo. Intended to embody the no-stress, exciting atmosphere of our company, you can press the fun button anytime and it is said that you will instantly feel happier.

What is the smile counter?

The Laser Maze Challenge and RAID are games, but we thought to ourselves “What if it represented more than that? What if it was a way to bring people together and remind the world to play?” After witnessing firsthand the joy our attractions create, we started equating 1 play with 1 smile. Considering the millions of smiles our attractions have already created, it seems fair to say they are more than just games; they are smile generators! Thus, the smile counter.
